Dr. Crist graduated from the University of Evansville in Indiana with a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering. He went to work in Detroit, Michigan for Chrysler designing the first computerized engine controls. He then went to Ford where he designed and specified the control systems for engine manufacturing. It was during this time that Dr Crist attended the University of Detroit to pursue a Masters in Business Administration that he became interested in the mechanics of walking and the difficulties people suffer while walking. He graduated from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio and then returned to Detroit to serve his externship at Harrison Community Hospital. He completed his surgical residency at Oakwood Hospital which included rotations at Henry Ford Hospital. His residency emphasized the treatment of trauma including fractures of the foot and ankle. He performed innumerable arthroscopic procedures of the ankle.

When given the opportunity to practice anywhere in the country, he chose Naples, Florida. Dr. Crist has been a podiatrist in Collier County for over 20 years; and is on staff at all four hospitals in Collier County.

Dr. Crist is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. Throughout his time in Collier County he has been on the cutting edge of Podiatric surgery. Dr. Crist was the first podiatrist to perform arthroscopic surgery of an ankle and to surgically repair an ankle fracture in Naples. He was also the first to perform Endoscopic heel surgery in Collier County.

Dr. Crist has enjoyed boating, fishing and playing tennis while living in Naples. He has played some golf and boasts a hole in one during a Tournament. Dr. Crist has been a model for the Naples Film Festival Poster and appeared in a television Commercial for a local tennis Facility.

Dr. Crist has 3 lovely children, 4 wonderful grandchildren and is currently single.
